		<Note Title="Summary" Type="General" Ordinal="2" xml:lang="en">An update for popt is now available for openEuler-24.03-LTS-SP1</Note>
		<Note Title="Description" Type="General" Ordinal="3" xml:lang="en">The popt library exists essentially for parsing command line options. Some specific advantages of popt are no global variables (allowing multiple passes in parsing argv), parsing an arbitrary array of argv-style elements (allowing parsing of command-line-strings from any source), a standard method of option aliasing, ability to exec external option filters, and automatic generation of help and usage messages.

Security Fix(es):

A flaw was found in popt, a command-line option parsing library. An off-by-one error in the poptStuffArgs function, when repeatedly called by a host application or through deep alias nesting, can lead to corruption of internal program data. This corruption could potentially enable a local attacker to execute arbitrary code if the host application then unsafely processes the altered data.(CVE-2026-18739)</Note>
		<Note Title="Topic" Type="General" Ordinal="4" xml:lang="en">An update for popt is now available for openEuler-24.03-LTS-SP1.

openEuler Security has rated this update as having a security impact of low. A Common Vunlnerability Scoring System(CVSS)base score,which gives a detailed severity rating, is available for each vulnerability from the CVElink(s) in the References section.</Note>
